    — Client

After practicing for three years with Eckert, Seamans, Cherin & Mellott, in Pittsburgh, J. McDowell (Jack) Sharpe returned to his roots in Frankin County as a fifth generation attorney to deliver sensible, practical legal advice to his clients. He concentrates his practice in business, corporate, real estate, and estate law, as well as litigation relating to those practice areas. His clients appreciate his common sense approach to solving their legal issues.

Behind the Desk...

Small, growing, emerging, and family-owned businesses, as well as individuals, seek Mr. Sharpe's counsel in a wide variety of situations, as he attempts to find reasonable solutions to their problems, but helping them through litigation when necessary. He assists new business clients' information, purchase, and governance, and he counsels existing and established businesses at the end of life-cycle in matters such as sales, mergers and acquisitions, business succession planning and dissolution.

An experienced litigator, Mr. Sharpe has assisted a wide variety of clients in the courtroom. This courtroom experience also enables him to counsel many of his clients to resolve their problems without going to court. His extensive knowledge of their issues from a courtroom perspective often allows a proactive approach for sensible resolution of problems without the expense of litigation.

As a Title Agent, Mr. Sharpe also represents clients in all aspects of real estate law including title insurance, search, settlements, and other related services for residential and commercial clients. He is experienced in the development of both commercial and residential subdivisions and also in litigating title and boundary issues.

Finally, Mr. Sharpe has written hundreds of estate planning documents for families and individuals, and he assists in the administration of estates. Although one of the goals of his practice is never to require litigation, he has assisted other attorneys in litigation of issues arising in their estate practices.

Mr. Sharpe lives in the Borough of Chambersburg with his wife and daughter.
